If a recipe says "untested"...

We want to post scans of all the original recipes so everyone in our family can enjoy them even if we haven't gotten around to testing each one in our modern kitchen. As we test each recipe, we will add our notes and photos to the recipes we do test and remove the note "untested" in the title. If you make one of the untested recipes, take a photo of the finished product and send us a note to let us know of your experience so we may include those in the recipes as well.

Peanut butter fudge (untested)


This recipe seems to be one of the older ones in Grammy's recipe box and appears to be written in fountain pen in either Esther's or Maggie's handwriting.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk [probably sweetened condensed milk, but without testing I can't be certain]
  • 2 heaping tablespoons Heinz peanut butter [any brand will work]

Instructions:
  1. Combine ingredients
  2. Boil for exactly 5 minutes
  3. Remove from fire
  4. Beat until thick
  5. Pour on buttered platter
  6. Cut and serve [I'm sure you have to wait until it has cooled]
